CTM stands for cleansing, toning and moisturizing. This is one of the oldest and widely followed steps in skin care routine. Cleansing involves washing your face using any cleanser/face wash to get rid of all the dirt accumulated throughout the day. Not cleansing your face will lead to clogging your pores and then breaking out the skin. Use a face wash according to your skin type to wash your face every day in the morning and night. Make sure to not use the product on your skin for more than a minute.

After cleansing comes toning which is the next step in the cleansing process. This is also a lot neglected in skin care routine but I would recommend never to miss this step. Toner helps in removing dirt from your face which the cleanser/facewash was not able to. It calms your skin down and also lowers the PH level. Soak a cotton pad with the toner and swipe it across your face gently. Always make sure to use alcohol-free toner.

The final step is moisturizing. Never skip applying a moisturizer. People usually have a misconception that moisturizers are to be used only during winters rather this should be used every day. Your skin requires hydration each night after being exposed to the harsh environment so make sure to apply a good coat of moisturizer every night. It does not matter if your skin is oily/combination a moisturizer is always a must.

Finally, remember that the CTM routine is not just to be followed at night but also in the morning. After all, it is important to remove all that product build up from the previous night and have a clean canvas to start your day with. Also for people with oily skin, you can replace the moisturizer with a light day cream in the morning.

Exfoliation involves removing dead skin cells accumulated on the skin’s surface. Yes, you are cleansing your face regularly but if you are not exfoliating it you are just inviting more troubles. Exfoliation removes dirt from your pores hence, unclogging them and makes your skin smoother and improves the skin texture. Never exfoliate your skin more than twice a week. Never Pop Acne

A lot of people have this habit of popping their pimples. But never pop your acne/pimple. Doing so will make it worse.
